Puppy Preschool classes are conducted in our veterinary hospital on a weekday evening at 7pm.

 

Each course comprises 4 x 1 hour sessions.

 

We conduct owner education, appropriate socialisation and a basic training program for puppies aged 8 – 16 weeks.

 

AIMS OF OUR PUPPY PRESCHOOL

 

Puppies

 

• proper socialised behaviour with other pups, children and adults

• response to basic commands

• ability to stay on its mat

• response to name

 

Owners

 

• positive reinforcement training

• handling techniques

• toilet training of pets

• bite inhibition/mouthing

• understanding and management of normal puppy behaviour eg. jumping and mouthing

• responsible pet ownership

• environmental enrichment/time alone

• nutrition and polite meal time manners

 

GUIDELINES

 

• Total cost for 4 classes $150

• Prior to starting classes, please visit the clinic to fill in our registration form and pay a deposit to secure your place in the next available class

• Maximum of two family members per class

• Please bring your puppy on a flat collar and lead (no check chains or retractable leads)

• Please bring current vaccination certificate if your pup is not vaccinated at our clinic

• Puppy training treats will be provided
